Exodus 7:9-12

When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, Show a miracle for yourselves,’ then you shall say to Aaron, Take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh, and let it become a serpent.’ ” So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as the LORD commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.

 

Matthew 10:1

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

 

Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

 

James 4:7

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

 

 

The scriptures we have read are core Christian beliefs. Question is, do you believe in them? There is no place in the Bible that supports you a child of God to flee from Satan, rather we are to resist him. Many church goers run away from Satan but true Christians resist him. Running away from Satan and demons is an expression of fear, failure and faithlessness in God. You do not take the nearest exit because the devil is coming at you. You are missing a good opportunity to demonstrate the power of God if you do. Matthew told us that Jesus gave them power against unclean spirits and to cast them out. Jesus in confirmation affirmed that all powers given to him has been given to you his child. It’s either we believe this truth or we don’t. Moses demonstrated against pharaoh in Egypt what brother James is asking you and I to do. He resisted pharaoh and his magicians who were a symbol of Satan and when their snakes turned around to flee the snake of Aaron which represented the presence of God swallowed them all. Your God will swallow Satan and all your enemies if only you will stand your ground against Satan. One way to stand your ground against Satan is by faith. The other way is what I will take time to explain on Wednesday our first school of wisdom Bible studies since Covid-19. But today we will be anointed for power to resist Satan and his demons.
